Between deliveries · Coordinated handoffs

A practical stop.A planned next step.

Freight does not always arrive in the sequence a project needs. DP Moving & Storage coordinates accepted freight receipt, planned transfers, short-term holding and onward delivery so the next stage has a clear owner and a workable schedule. Our Florida receiving operation can support Southeast delivery programs and dedicated routes assessed throughout the lower 48.

A line of box trucks ready for transport

Selective by design

We accept projects where the cargo, route, people and operating plan fit the standard of work we intend to deliver.

Details before dispatch

Access, handling, equipment, release instructions and receiving responsibilities are worked through before the job.

Direct accountability

An agreed scope, a DP contact and an in-house crew keep responsibility clear from planning to handoff.

The DP approach

The right project. The right plan. No guesswork.

We are selective about the work we accept because the quality of the result begins with the conditions behind it. Cargo, access, equipment, crew, schedule and the client’s expectations must fit a plan we can stand behind. We ask detailed questions, resolve uncertainty and define responsibility before the job begins.

That approach serves clients who value preparation as much as execution. If the brief changes, we review the effect before adding work. A clear acceptance process protects the project, the property, the people handling it and the standard of service you expect.

Freight Transfer & Short-Term Holding

What we can build into your project.

Build the service around the complete project, from collection and receiving through the final placement or release. Each stage has a defined scope, handling plan and point of responsibility.

Coordinated freight receipt

Arrange an approved arrival window for suitable boxed or palletized goods. Carrier and shipment references, piece counts, vehicle type and unloading requirements are reviewed before acceptance. The delivery location and receiving instructions are confirmed rather than left for the driver to discover.

Planned vehicle transfers

Review a vehicle-to-vehicle handoff where the freight, access and handling equipment make it suitable. Piece weights, dimensions, pallet condition and loading heights matter. We agree who unloads, who reloads and how the count and handoff will be recorded.

Short-term project holding

Bridge the gap between vendor readiness and final delivery with an agreed holding period. Storage requirements, packaging, volume, access needs and release instructions belong in the plan. Capacity and charges are confirmed before goods are sent.

Onward delivery & release

Connect held freight with dedicated road transport, a multi-stop program or an authorized carrier collection. We confirm which items are leaving, the release contact and the service at each destination, including any white-glove placement or unpacking.

A strong brief makes a stronger plan.

Carrier, shipper, shipment reference and project identifier • Piece count, packed dimensions, weights and pallet condition • Vehicle type, loading height and unloading method • Proposed arrival window and required holding period • Storage conditions, packaging and any restricted characteristics • Release authority, onward destinations and delivery service required

Operational planning

Plan the outbound movement before the inbound arrival.

A good holding plan answers more than where a pallet can sit. Identify the shipment owner, expected arrival, planned release date, destination and the person authorized to approve changes. If items come from multiple vendors, use clear project and shipment references so the receiving and delivery requirements can be reconciled.

Tell us whether the load will remain intact or be split into agreed delivery groups. We review accessible loading space, the handling method and equipment suitability before accepting a transfer. Receiving approval must come before a carrier dispatches freight; an unplanned drop-off can create avoidable waiting, redelivery and handling issues.

Before the truck arrives

Clear details.
A coordinated handoff.

Every accepted project moves through a clear sequence: assess the work, confirm responsibility, prepare the cargo and site, execute the agreed handling and close the handoff. The details below make that process specific to your shipment.

Protection & documentation

Know what arrived. Know what moves next.

The agreed receiving process establishes piece counts, shipment references and visible-condition documentation. Packaging damage, count discrepancies or unclear release instructions should be raised with the responsible contact. The scope of inspection is defined up front; concealed contents, functional testing and specialist quality assurance are not assumed.

Holding and transport requirements are reviewed against the goods themselves. Dimensions, weights, packaging, environmental needs and any restricted characteristics determine suitability. Before release, the plan identifies the authorized recipient or carrier and the agreed collection or final-delivery instructions.

Information & responsibility

Clear information. Accountable people.

Your project begins with a structured online inquiry covering the route, timing, cargo and handling requirements. Your DP contact works through the details with you, and the agreed estimate records the service and pricing. For the physical work, a crew lead provides an on-site point of contact.

We agree the communication and documentation needed for the project, including receiving instructions, schedule coordination and the handoff record. Send changes through your DP contact so the plan can be reviewed before work changes. Please keep passwords, access credentials and sensitive security instructions out of the public inquiry form; arrange any necessary site-access information directly with the team.

A place to hold the project together

Connect the stages. Keep responsibility clear.

Receiving, private storage and final delivery can be coordinated as part of a single project plan. We agree the receiving location, inspection scope, holding period and release instructions before goods arrive, then align onward delivery with site readiness.

Coverage & delivery programs

Southeast focus. Routes built around the project.

DP is Florida based, serving projects across Florida and assessing dedicated routes throughout the Southeast and the lower 48 states. We plan around the complete journey: supplier, terminal, venue, property, receiving point and final placement, rather than treating a home-base address as the boundary of the service.

Single deliveries, multi-stop routes and recurring programs can be reviewed. Exact origins, destinations, operating windows and site requirements determine the route and resource plan. Receiving and storage are coordinated at the location agreed in your estimate; regional transport does not imply a warehouse in every market.

Planning your project

Details that make a difference.

Receiving appointments, capacity and handling suitability confirmed in advance.

Call our team
Can a carrier deliver without a receiving appointment?

Receiving must be approved in advance. We confirm the location, time window, space and unloading arrangements before you dispatch a carrier. Share changes to arrival or vehicle type promptly so the receiving plan can be reviewed.

Is this a container-unloading or bonded-warehouse service?

No. This offering covers accepted boxed or palletized freight and suitable vehicle transfers. Container unloading, bonded or customs warehousing, hazardous-materials storage, oversized cargo and rigging require separate specialist arrangements.

How long can freight be held?

The holding period, charges, storage conditions and release plan are agreed before arrival. If a project is delayed, contact us before the agreed release date so the effect on space, scheduling and charges can be reviewed.

Can you split a shipment across several destinations?

We can assess a planned multi-stop delivery or agreed delivery groups. Supply an accurate item-to-destination list and the service needed at each stop. Sorting, repacking and extra handling must be expressly included rather than assumed.

What inspections are included?

We agree the receiving and condition-documentation scope with you. A visible-condition check and count are different from unpacking every item, testing equipment or certifying concealed contents. Tell us what documentation your project requires before arrival.

Can you collect and deliver the freight as well?

Yes, dedicated transport can be considered with the transfer or holding plan. We assess Florida and Southeast routes and lower-48 movements based on the cargo, timing and destination requirements, providing one coordinated scope for the agreed stages.

How do you decide whether a project is the right fit?

We review the cargo, route, access, handling, timing and requested outcome before accepting the work. We want the resources, responsibilities and expectations aligned in a plan we can execute properly. If something essential is unresolved, we address it with you before a commitment is made.

How do you manage project information and changes?

Your structured inquiry captures the starting requirements. Your DP contact coordinates the agreed scope, timing and handoff information, with a crew lead for the physical work. Tell us what records or updates your project needs during planning. Changes to inventory, access or requested services are reviewed for their effect on the work, timing and price before additional work begins.
