We Move Pianos — The Right Way
Moving a piano is not the same as moving furniture. Pianos are heavy, delicate, mechanically complex, and often irreplaceable. At DP Moving & Storage, we offer professional piano moving services designed to protect the instrument, the property, and everyone involved.
Pre-Move Review & Planning
To properly evaluate and prepare your piano move, we require the following information prior to scheduling:
- Clear, recent photos of the piano
- Make and model (if known)
- Declared or estimated value
- Any historical significance or prior restoration work
- Access details (stairs, flooring, tight clearances, elevators, exterior paths)
We Handle the Entire Process — So You Don’t Have To
Do you move high-value or antique pianos?
Yes. We regularly transport high-value, antique, and specialty pianos. Advance disclosure and documentation are required so the move can be planned correctly.
Do you disassemble grand pianos?
Partial disassembly may be required depending on the piano type and access conditions. This is evaluated during the pre-move review.
Are third-party movers ever involved?
No. All piano moves are handled exclusively by DP Moving & Storage’s in-house team. We do not use brokers or subcontracted labor.
Will my piano need tuning after the move?
Yes. Most pianos should be tuned after relocation once they have acclimated to their new environment. We recommend using a licensed piano technician.
Can we move pianos up or down stairs, into or out of high-rise buildings, and in certain cases, utilize crane services?
We can move pianos up or down stairs, into or out of high-rise buildings, and in certain cases, utilize crane services. All such moves are dependent on the piano type, access conditions, building requirements, and the information provided in advance. Stair, high-rise, and crane-assisted piano moves require prior review and approval to ensure proper planning, equipment selection, and safety.
